A small altar box for a saint that should exist (and quite possibly does.) This is Saint Hilda, saint of the daytime moon. The box 17 x 11 x 1.5 cm and is constructed entirely from recycled materials - vintage pages from books, card and tin recycled from drinks cans. It is completely hand made.
The ethos of Seventy Seven Seas is to find and re-use waste or recycled materials. The metal I use is recycled drinks cans, combined with recycled card and book pages. This means the items are light and delicate, though perfectly substantial - and of course this means they are also environmentally friendly. Packaging, where possible, is also recycled.
I use wood that would otherwise go to waste, so sometimes there are little marks and imperfections - all part of the story. All items are hand made and will have very slight variations from the photographs. This is a part of the Seventy Seven Seas ethos and values - each piece is unique.
